Chicken Tikka Masala by Sobia

The only recipe you’ll ever need to make a delicious Chiken Rikka Masala at home. This recipe feeds 4 people and costs less than £10 to make – way cheaper than a restaurant or take-away and tastes 100 times better too. A Delicious, healthy recipe for you to try at home, especially on a budget. Give it a go, you’ll never buy ready made again.


For the Marinade:


For the sauce:

  • Oil for frying 
  • 2 diced onions 
  • 1hpd tsp ginger and garlic purée 
  • 4 tbsp blended tin tomatoes 
  • Green chillies (optional) 
  • 4-5 tbsp fresh yoghurt 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 1.5 tsp garam masala 
  • 2tsp basar (my own red chilli mix) 
  • 2 heaped tsp ground coriander 
  • Fresh chopped coriander 
  • Water as required 
  1. Roast chicken (marinated overnight) at 220-230 degrees for approx 25 or until cooked through 
  2. Heat a little oil 
  3. Fry onions until caramelised 
  4. Stir in ginger and garlic (1 min) 
  5. Add tomato (1 min) 
  6. Add all spices and salt along with yoghurt and sauté until combined (approx 1 min) 
  7. Stir in green chillies 
  8. Stir stir n cooked chicken tikka and add a little water to loosen the curry a little 
  9. Sprinkle in fresh coriander and serve
